FEMA Ignored Risk Toxic Trailers Imposed on Katrina Victims

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) failed to test FEMA trailers for toxic levels of formaldehyde even after the agency?s field workers warned the trailers might be linked to health problems. FEMA?s own emails show that the agency?s lawyers rejected testing because they were afraid doing so would expose FEMA to liability if anyone living in the trailers became ill due to exposure to the toxic air.

I think this agency have been criminal in neglect of their primary duty to protect those who are in need after disasters. Might be time to remove this agency from political control and give it to the coast guard.

The Coast was great in the evacuation effort then Wal-mart and John Travolta were first in New Orleans and did great.

People are free to move out. Why are people still in temporary housing? Didnt the US Government give millions of dollars to Louisiana for rebuilding the city???

Sounds like more corruption than anything.

Lets see take a can of paint or sealer and paint over the top of the paneling.

Try billions for the road home program alone. Unfortunately, our esteemed governor Kathleen Babbling Blanco has single handedly screwed the program up royally. The company that she hired is still trying to figure out how to give away free money.

The Wal-Mart Emergency Management Agency.

While FEMA was stumbling in the dark Wal-Mart was shipping everything that was needed to its stores. Same with Home Depot etc.
Perfect example of how effective private enterprise can be verse the government.
