Long and two other federal employees may have broken several laws while going back and forth between Washington, D.C. and Long’s home in Hickory, N.C. at taxpayers’ expense.

Long says he will cooperate with investigators. In the past, the investigation was led by the Department of Homeland Security’s inspector general before it was handed over to federal prosecutors.

This has to be a hall of fame presidency for this kind of stuff.

What laws were broken? With the statement "...broken several laws while going back and forth between Washington, D.C. and Long's home in Hickory, N.C. at taxpayers' expense." this is sounding like an expense issue (e.g. buying first class tickets or $2000 dinners) ?

With hunt! Witch hunt!!!

Again I’d like to point out that the Salem trials resulted in 19 executions of suspected witches. At this rate the Trump admin/campaign will exceed that with people convicted of crimes.

As I understand it it’s abuse of a government taxi service. Making them drive him back and forth from DC to NC and putting them up in hotels at tax payer expense.

Allegations stem from him making frequent trips home (like dozens IIRC) and bringing FEMA staff with him who were put up at taxpayer expense contrary to law. He was told not to and that the DHS IG was watching then he did it again anyway.

I figured stuff like that was normal ? Going to DC doesn't exactly sound like fun and excitement. Sounds like typical business venture to discuss politics and have your typical pointless meetings, no?

Maybe I'm just used to it since I travel for work - but flying to and from DC sounds totally normal.... presuming you're flying coach, booking the cheaper hotels (Not $300/night Ritz-Carlton), etc..

Oh and obviously not flying in Monday, flying out Tuesday or other small trips.

He didn’t fly. He made the government accessible service drive him. Made the staff stay all weekend at tax payer expense.

His travel home is his own cost. He chose not to reside near the FEMA offices.

Willfully ignorant is a virtue for conservatives I guess. Do you bother to research a topic at all before commenting?

Yes, actually - I read the OP and the article linked in it detective dipshit.

None of which go into any details. If there are more details, I don't really care to go around googling for accurate links - the least I can presume is the OP linked information... Hence why there is a topic to discuss the information.

Your desire to be spoon fed what to believe is exactly why you're so easily duped by the GOP. Congrats!

No moron, I expect if you're going to make a topic on a particular detail of a particular story - the minimal I expect is that the link will contain the details in which you're arguing in your post.

Is that too much to ask for you snowflake? How can I assert what you are arguing for or against if you don't link it ?

Someone appears triggered...

I'm just pointing out that repeatedly here "conservatives" argue from positions of ignorance. If that offends you I'm sorry. Maybe you should address the behavior that when pointed out to you makes you angry.

You're expecting too much from him, the guy unironically posted this nugget about the Manafort plea deal yesterday:

Does he? Are you that sure?

If I were in Manafort's position I would ACT like I have some kind of juicy information - of course I wouldn't tell them what it is until after they sign the terms of the plea deal..

Then I would basically say "lol I have nothing /shrug"

I guess I'm wondering - do they REALLY get that much good information out of him prior to signing the plea deal to know he is valuable?

He's just another loudmouth simpleton who thinks he's way smarter than he actually is.
