Long story short: Last year I moved to Syracuse after I graduated to start my full time job. Since then, I've been playing open mics and joined the 'Guitar League' here (http://www.guitarleague.com/)... which led me to meeting/playing with Loren Barrigar. Instead of talking him up, I'll let the videos do the talking. In his words he's trying to "get out there." I told him I'd pass his music along as much as I could. I know there are some guitar guys here who may appreciate some good pickin'! I was just watching Ventures videos on YouTube, and looked them up on Wikipedia to do some reading. It turns out Walk Don't Run is a Chet Atkins tune. I didn't know that :^)

One of Tommy's main influences was Chet. He always throws in little teasers of Chet Atkins or Jerry Reed tunes. He's an incredible player for sure.

I thought the same thing. But a few hours a night with your guitar infront of the TV (strictly using your fingers) does pay off quite quickly. I've definintely seen an improvement of my fingerpicking. Loren has also shown me some different scales, patterns, etc. that get your fingers moving pretty good. If you put the time in, it'll come!
