fellow corporate cogs: I got a request for "healthier snacks". TF does that even mean?

I usually bring in breakfast or post-lunch goodies for the team. That usually means pastries, donuts, bagels, cakes, ice cream....

There is common feedback from some members of the department for "healthier snacks". I don't even know what this means in the context of breakfast or post-lunch treats. Bringing in a vegetable platter for breakfast seems more demotivating than motivating. Help me ATOT, you're my only hope.

also, assuming this is not anonymous .... have you considered asking for specific/exact/precise examples from the person/people who made the request?

lol @ coworkers coming in to a bowl of guavas
I was pointing out that there is an entire food group called "fruits" ... and more or less they are usually very snack friendly.
Also, suggesting to get a variety.
So throw a Guava or two in the bowl and see what happens!

tell them the only healthy snack is nothing and they should have regularly interspersed and balanced meals

Just drop a watermelon in the middle of the table.

Are you going to be buying them off the shelf or making them?

Be prepared to waste food. We have a snack box at the office where the employees association sells junk food. A certain employee, we'll call her "Laura", because that is her name, occasionally clamors for "healthy" snacks like dried seaweed (no lie, dried seaweed). Whenever we try healthier snacks, they don't sell at all and end up expiring. Chocolate sells best, coffee second, chips and pop third, and everything else last.

Anyway, for meetings, bring deviled eggs. High in protein and everybody who matters likes them. Cheese, sausage, and crackers works well.

I make it a point of not eating during the day. Food makes you tired.
