I was doing Crossfit until I screwup up my back with sciatica doing dead lifts for time.

But I was in the best shape of my life during that time. 32 non-stop pull-ups, 50+ non-stop push-ups, and I looked good too.

I already have a 24 Hour gym membership and my nomadic lifestyle makes it impossible to stay at a regular Crossfit gym.

But the biggest issue is that I'm lazy and I never actually enjoyed working out. I did it for a little under a year and even though the workouts got easier due to being in shape, I always approached them with dread. There was never a time when I actually wanted to go to Crossfit, even though I liked the place and the people. I had to force myself every time because I just didn't enjoy the exertion of it. This makes it easier to fall off the wagon and of course, stay off the wagon.

I enjoyed the results though.

I guess I'm asking for some tips on how to get back on the wagon with my nomadic lifestyle and how to stay on it, preferably with enjoyment. The psychological aspect of it is a pretty big thing that turns me off.

What I liked about the workouts in CF is that they were already prescribed for us when we entered the gym.

Today's WOD is this! Do it. Done. No thinking involved. Just do what you're told. No one watching you suck - everyone is sharing the intense suckage with you.

Now that I'm not part of a gym I have to figure out what workout I want to do, and being out of shape and at 24 Hour Fitness, most of the WODs on Crossfit's website are either too much or impossible to do due to lack of equipment.

Why not do Starting Strength? You are at a gym so you have the equipment and see how stronger you can get? Maybe enter a PowerLifting comp in 4-6months time? It will give you a *goal* to hit.

I second Koing's suggestion. Buy the book, it's the best exercise/training book I've ever read. My performance on the soccer field has absolutely exploded, and I haven't even gotten that strong yet.

I got bored a few years ago, and got back into it with Stronglifts combined with fitocracy. Stronglifts keeps me wanting to gain strength, and fitocracy keeps me competitive while still being anonymous. Occasionally I'll try an quest or aim for a specific achievement on fitocracy too, it helps change up the routine. The fitocracy community is great too, each time I level up I get congratulated by a lot of peeps.
