Maybe its just in my state but the local Costco has the Feit LED 60 watt equivalents for $4.99 a piece. They are omni directional and dimable.

That's the cheapest by half I have ever seen these at.

which ones are they when you look at the Costco site, you are directed to the Feit website. The insportant issue is how many lumens do they put out.

They are not on the Costco website, but IIRC they are 825 lumens. Also, they supposedly have a 28 year life expectancy.

I saw these a couple of weekends ago and bought a couple. They also had the BR30 recessed bulbs on sale for a similar price after instant rebate. However, I went this past weekend to get a few more (I wanted to try them out first) and they were back to regular price. :( This is in NJ.

Thanks for the heads up. If this is still true it is time to start a lot of repacements. I have these as a reading lamp and as my over garage door lights for some months. They have been fine.

Hey, I just stopped by my local Costco (Silverdale, WA) and they still have a ton of them. $14.99 with an instant $10 rebate. Offer good through 1/14/2013. The lumens are actually 850 and the projected life expectancy is 22.8 years vice the 28.2 I stated in my earlier post.

Best deal I've ever seen on these.

Was the instant rebate marked on the shelf? I went to my Costco in Houston today and it just said 14.99.

The instant $10 rebate was highlighted in yellow on the price placard. Wow, I wonder why it's a regional thing. Maybe it's the Kirkland aura. It's just across the Puget sound about 25 miles as a crow flies.

Who knows? Maybe it's screw-up. I couldn't believe it when I first saw it. I should probably pick up a few more before they figure it out.

definitely regional. feit and other manufacturers work in tandem with local power companies to put these bulbs on the shelf at or below cost to reduce load on the electrical system. same reason you can find cfl's for 50 cents a pop sometimes.

the led module alone costs $5... let alone the whole bulb. take up the deal while you can! its win win for everyone

In So. NJ, some of the LED lights were clearly marked as receiving a NJ state subsidy. I say "were" because I didn't see an explicit sign re-stating that today, but I'm unsure the prices have changed: they may have just dropped the notice. Anyway, any subsidies will vary from state to state.

I don't recall seeing this particular bulb, however.

I've replaced the majority of my bulbs with LEDs and won't buy further CFL or incandescent ones except where unavoidable. It remains unclear how durable they will be in winter [sub-zero] outdoor fixtures, BTW.
