Waffles, chocolate, and chocolate waffles. Oh and Belgians participated in the creation of Trench warfare at the Battle of Liege (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Liège), where the Germans woefully underestimated the strength of their resistance. And apparently they wore funny hats while they did it.

FN Herstal is also a widely respected historical Belgian firearms company with loads of military contracts (including with the US).

Belgian Farmhouse Ale's!!!! Also Belgian Wheat Ales. Farmhouse Ale's might be my favorite beers at the moments, so as far as I'm concerned Belgians are a-okay with me. I like the waffles too, but I only eat them like once a year so it's not really a factor.

I was gonna say, Belgian Waffles? Delicious. Belgian Wheat Ales? Waaaaaay better than waffles. I love Belgians! And I'm smart about recycling them too when I'm finished.

Mmmmmmmmmm

Ahhh.. Belgium (aka the battleground of Europe)

the flemish part 🙂
the walloon part :\

One of the few places the Dutch don't have to switch languages, at least in the northern half).

Good beer, nice cities, horrible roads, and the fries are a tad to big for my taste. (at least they use mayo on them like civilized people)

We have Belgians living across the street. Nice folks and they speak great English so I don't have to torture their ears with my pidgen French.

I am trying to figure out the mathematical solution of your lineage to be 45%

Assuming that brothers and sisters don't mix (marry), etc etc.

Everyone has 4 grand-parents, each of whom have 4 grandparents themselves.

16 Great Great grandparents.

So if 8 of them come from Belgium, except that one of the 8 was born elsewhere, French/English/German etc etc.

8-1 = 7

7/16 = (Approximately) 45%

(0.4375 if you are mathematically pedantic).

Maybe a Genealogy program or web thing, produced the 45% figure for them.

Probably. No one knows where it is. Most have never met a Belgian. Belgium is virtually invisible.

I've been to Antwerp and Luxembourg. Beautiful. Ex got herself some diamonds. I got myself an untraceable account. Nice trip all around.
