Feel funny asking this but

I used to have DSL for nearly 6 years so this wasn't an issue but here goes.

I recently got comcast cable and set up the cable modem in my room. Obviously, the modem is using the only coax cable connection in my room so I can't use my TV anymore.

Will using a splitter affect the internet connection at all? Is there something I can use to have my TV and modem on at the same time without any signal loss?

Thanks

Way back before the dawn of time the cable guy had to make each coax port in the house "internet" ready, meaning the modem only worked from that port and cable TV did not work. Now days any port will do and a splitter won't cause any problems. I run a splitter in my office and it's fine.
