Looking for some opinions on the Biostar M5SAA super socket 7 mobo for amd K6-3. Who knows about these? pcliquidator has them for $70. Good deal or go somewhere else?

I've used a similar Biostar board at work. It was ok but it definitely is not worth $70. Not for the lack of expansion slots. There are some bundles out there that have a similar board with a cpu for about $80.

Super socket 7 is dead. You can get a Socket A and Duron for just a hair more. Most socket a motherboards should be upgradeable to 1GHz cpu or more. There are no good socket 7 gaming cpu's either, unless you can modify it to use the K6-2+ or K6-3+ which may not be worth trying.

Socket7 motherboards are too limited in terms of future upgradability, spend a little bit more and get a decent Socket370/SocketA board.
