I had a deal this week I couldn't pass up so now I'm putting together a new server for the house.
What I have so far
Cooler Master 810 case with 2 4 in 3 modules
8 250gb Maxtor IDE 133 drives
2 3Ware IDE ATA RAID controllers
supermicro x5dpe-g2 with 4gb ECC ram and an intel P4 Xeon CPU w/aftermarket cooler
I plan to run two arrays of 750gb raid 5 for each and run the os off either an ide drive or put in a spare pci sata controller and maybe pick up one or two 36gb raptors for the os in RAID 1.
Any recommendations on PSU? I got all this in a bulk deal I couldn't pass up. I am going to use this to replace the current A64 socket 754 box I'm running as my 2k3 server.
