if this means 300 legal citizens will now get a job, then I'm all for it.

Problem is no legal citizens will take those kind of jobs for that kind of pay. Honestly, if the US gov cracked down on illegal immigrants, this country would grind to a halt. Would you work as a dishwasher or farm laborer 12 hours a day for sh*tty pay?
Alot of farmers in NJ were paying $8 an hour for farm labourers but could not find anyone to take the jobs. These farmers had like 100 positions to fill and went to highschools, colleges, unemployment office and only filled like 2% of the jobs. It's hard work for long hours under the sun. Without immigrants, these farms would go out of business. Before people jump in and state that farmers should have paid more, they couldn't. These farmers could only afford to pay $8 an hour or they would be out of business.
Sorry to say, that means the employers aren't offering enough. One reason illegal aliens take these jobs is because they are the only jobs they can get and still have a chance at staying under the INS radar. It also undercuts the job market for legal residents and starves them out.Originally posted by: Dat
