I got vista/XP, if I want fedora core as a boot option after I install the media version..

what's going to happen?

You can get the XP / Vista boot manager to prompt you to select Fedora's boot.

XP:
modify
C:\BOOT.INI

Vista run:
bcdedit.exe /?
and check out the options.

Personally I usually just let Fedora's GRUB boot manager be the master one and I'll modify /boot/grub/menu.lst
or whatever to change the boot options and OS list there.

That or you can just keep them totally independent if they're on different physical drives and use the BIOS boot device selection menu / configuration to select which drive comes first in the boot sequence.

Vista (and XP to a lesser extent) can / will wipe out boot sectors of other operating systems when it is installed, though, so you might have to go through some adjustments to get it all working.
