Fedora Core 8 and Kubuntu can't read my raid on my M2N-SLI deluxe

It tells me that it's unreadable, but beyond that, nothing. I have set up the RAID with the 'f10' RAID configuration setup, to which is labeled "healthy".

I'm using the Asus m2n-sli Deluxe board. Do I have to format the drives before I put them in a RAID or something? And if so, what's the easiest way to do that? (since I don't seem to be getting that option with the installers).

*edit*
One more thing, is there any way to test the mobo to see if the RAID is working how it should? I would think it should be... but since I'm having problems with linux not being able to recognize my RAID array, something might be up.

if you are using only linux, then you don't need onboard RAID, linux software raid would suffice...

did you format drives after you had them put in raid?
