fedora 4 wg111v2 ndiswrapper

I've installed ndiswrapper and added the drivers, but my ethernet adapter does not seem to be detected. It says hardware is not present when I do ndiswrapper -l. Anybody know what's going on?

Ok, I looked it up. It's not an ethernet card, but wireless. It looks like it might work with newer prism54 drivers. I'd tell you to go to prism54.org, but the site is useless. :| This site may be able to help.

I believe that for wireless adaptes to work (specifically Intel PRO/Wireless) in core 4 you needed to use ndiswrapper...

I am by no means a linux guru but did you remove the original driver before installing the new one... and reboot before adding the new driver?

I have my notes at home from when I had to go through this on my Dell D510...

No. you don't.

It was the only way my 2200BG would work. The again I have limited Linux knowledge.

Thanks for the input guys.

I never installed any drivers beforehand, so it can't be that. I've checked out the prism54 site before as well, but that was so confusing for a linux newb like me. There are hardly any step by step instructions on that site. I think I've downloaded the prism54 driver and the associated firmware, but I don't know how I'm gonna manage with them. I don't even understand why there's firmware that isn't to be installed on the device!

Can somebody please tell me whether I'm right or not? From what I understand, prism54 is the driver for many of the wireless ethernet adapters. The firmware is what's necessary for the USB dongles. That's the thing that goes into hotplug, right?

I beleive so, but I haven't read the docs.
