If you call FedEx or UPS for an item enroute can you have them hold it at a local facility? I want to order something large but would rather pick it up instead of it being shipped to the apartment offices.

Can you have it shipped to work or a friends house? I wouldn't trust them to hold something for me.

probably going to have to have alternate shipping addresses on account with whatever card you used to make the purchase

ive had UPS hold my stuff a couple of times because i wanted to make sure i got it, and was going to be near their office anyway.

I have stuff shipped to work all the time and my work address is not on file with the credit card company. They usually just care about your billing address, shrugs.

Really? I've tried it before, and they outright refuse to. They get real anal. Something about how it has to be delivered where it was mean to blah blah blah. I ordered a phone I needed when I went on vacation, and I was leaving before it would arrive, and they had it at the UPS place.

When I've done it they wouldn't release it from a distribution center, but they would release it from a delivery center.

Yea, thats what I wanted to do. But they thought I was trying to steal my own package...

i usually got hassled about it :/

except for one fedex guy, who would call my work number and drop it off there if i was going to be around....i think its because it was easier than going to my home on the other side of town, but, whatever :)

They'll usually attempt delivery once but then after that they'll hold it. That's been my experience.
