Perhaps that is why Woot's symbol for Smartpost looks like this:

LMAO!

My company offers SmartPost as an option, but yes it sucks. After my experience with it I'll gladly pay a couple extra bucks to get the package a week sooner and far more likely to arrive at all.

Fedex Smartpost is inferior to the Pony Express using a dead 3-legged horse.

Fixed that for you.

The last time I had a package come Smartpost it went 1500 miles in the first day and took 2 weeks to cover the last 50. And that was the LAST time I used Smartpost. Don't settle for shitty shipping. If a company only offers Smartpost take your business elsewhere and tell the company why they lost the sale. If they get enough complaints they'll change, if you just meekly bend over and take it they'll keeping doing it.

Smartpost takes FOREVER. When there's a handoff to USPS you can expect a 24 hour delay at least. It's terrible.

Fedex Ground on the other hand is amazing.

Home Delivery is the second worst thing ever. Totally different system. It threw my "waiting for the FedEx truck" strategy off and what's worse they left my fvcking package with the maintenance guy of our apartment. I thought my package went missing for the longest time and after a week some guy who could barely speak English called my phone # using our apartment call box.

Sorry to bump an old thread but this week I ordered some computer parts that came via every way possible (reg Fedex, UPS, USPS first and priority, and smartpost) and I now have everything else ready to go BUT the smartpost order which was one of my first ones.

What is the point of smartpost? I don't understand.

I had a smartpost that went from Denver to California to Florida. Sat at Florida for 10 days then delivered back to California.

People want free or super cheap shipping. This is what happens when there's a race to the bottom. They found a way to ship cheaper than UPS/FedEx ground. I'm honestly ok with it if it's something I know I don't need for a couple weeks.

Have you ever seen a FedEx to USPS transition while tracking. It's like keystone cops.
-Package picked up from sender
-Package arrived at regional distribution, Ontario, CA
-Package at local sorting facility, Anaheim, CA
-Package arrived at regional sorting, Los Angeles, CA
-Package arrived at sorting facility, Anaheim, CA
-Package at your local post office, Anaheim, CA
