Fedex Ship status: "Accepted by USPS?"

Tracked a package that was shipped by Buy.com last week by Fedex Saver... Turns out it was "accepted by USPS" yesterday (with my city name listed). Huh? Are they working with the local post office now, the mailmen delivering your fedex packages?!??! When did this happen?

They've done it for at least 6-7 years. We used to offer it at a shipping place where I worked.

Yep, thats what it is. I'd prefer just sending it USPS in the first place since it seems to take twice as long.

It happened to my package a fews weeks ago and took about 5 extra days to get here. I ordered and xbox360 and a controller (shipped separately). The xbox shipped only through UPS and got here in 3 days, the controller got all F'ed up at the handoff, shipped to places that didn't make sense, and then got here the next week.
