FedEx question

I shipped something by FedEx today and it weighed 21.5 lbs by scale and this is what it says on the receipt.

They always charge the next highest whole pound as I expect, but when I look at the tracking, they always round it down, so it says 21.00 lbs.

Anyone know why they do this?

Cuz they don't try to rip you off like airborne express 😛

they round up when they're charging you so that they can charge you more, they round down so that if it gets loaded on a plane they can say the pallet weighs slightly less and possibly load more on the plane.

That's the best I can make up on the spot

the last package i sent fedex was rounded up on both the label and online....

Fedex runs their own aircraft, they wouldn't risk a plane possibly crashing because they wanted to round down to say a pallet weighed a little less. airplanes have a max takeoff weight, anything over that and plane = broken
