fedex question

is there a way to tell if a package was insured by looking at the fedex shipping label??

also, if a package is insured, but not packed worth a shiat...do they still cover it?

heres why I'm wondering - my new PC (warning, high res)

Wow that computer got screwed up bad.

The drive cages are usually locked securely, and it looks like those just fell off. I'd ask the party that sent it to you first, and then talk to fedex.

A system should not be shipped with hard drives installed in a case like that IMHO. There isn't enough give to take the shock. I'm suprised this is Fedex actually and not UPS.

want me to make it worse?
that card that the hard drive rack is sitting on (the big bent one) is an adaptec 2100s SCSI card with 128mb of onboard memory
the fried video card is 9800 AIW Pro
the two hard drives are 15k rpm cheetahs (18.4gb)

i'm not gonna mention his name yet, because I haven't contacted him. I don't wanna drag his name through the mud before he gets a chance to make things right.

Wow... some nice $$$ parts in there that got jacked up. 🙁 I don't think the measly newspaper packaging helped in the first place.
