I know they each have estimates on their website but for those that actually ship alot of stuff, I'd like to know which one is generally cheaper.

Just standard, ground shipping, no insurance, etc.

FedEx Ground by far. UPS cost a lot more now, esp if you ship a lot.

Both offer discount if you ship a good deal and a huge discount if you are a large company. newegg went from FedEx to UPS as it was that much cheaper, even though they lost a lot of customers.

FedEx

Shipped a 56lb 18x14x7 package for $21.49 the other day from SD (The state not the city) to TX.

I shipped off a motherboard and some ram (seperate boxes) a few days ago via ups. The mobo, obviously was larger and was over $10. The ram box was small and was $8. The mobo was also going farther but not by much. So either the mobo was cheap or the ram was expensive. I should have just sent the ram usps.

Well I should have added since de8212 kinda reminded me is that small items are usually chaper by priority US mail. larger items like full size motherboards in retail boxs are best by fedEx ground.

At my business UPS works out great for overnight shipments to LA from SD because we're pretty much guaranteed with UPS ground that all shipments will be there next day, so saves us ton of money over using Fedex overnight.

USPS is the cheapest, and usually works great.

Fedex is awesome if you're willing to spend the extra $$$.

Honestly I can't think of a good reason to use UPS. They're not terrible, just...worse than the alternatives, and not any cheaper in most cases.

If you go to the USPS and FedEx and UPS Web sites and start putting numbers into the shipping estimate thingees, you'll see that FedEx Ground or FedEx Home has the lowest rates if you're shipping more than 3lbs.

This stays true unless you have something that is pretty small, weighs a lot, and fits into the USPS Flat Rate box (~$8).

I would go with USPS or Fedex. UPS isn't much cheaper, and as far as I've encountered, they have horrible services compared to their competitors.
