FedEx lies...

I've been eagerly awaiting my new power supply since Wednesday so that I can install this GeForce 6800 GT that's just sitting on the floor... FedEx tried to deliver it Thursday while I was in class. Not a big deal. I don't have class on Friday, so I thought I could stick around my apartment all day waiting for it. I woke up at 11 and have just been hanging around the apartment, hoping it would show up.

Well, at about 4PM I thought "Gee, it's getting kinda late. I should check the tracking page again." It says they tried to deliver it at 10:55... That's a lie! My roommate was up at 10:30 and would have happily signed for it! Grrr... Are FedEx locations open on Saturdays?

Cliff's Notes:
FedEx said they tried to deliver my package today, but my roommate was up and around and didn't receive it.

They told me a package couldn't be delivered because noone was around to sign for it, although it was sitting hidden in my side door... Grr..

I'll Take UPS Over FedEx Any Day!
  • Guess I should be happy to have Buy.Com's free shipping either way, but what good is it if FedEx can't come through? They managed to deliver two packages to my front door yesterday, no problem. Today, tracking says a package was delivered at 1:45PM to the front door. My boys and I have been here all day, and nobody but the mailman has been here. I contacted FedEx and a CSR told me it says it was supposedly delivered, and she'll contact the driver and phone me back. I've NEVER had this trouble with UPS.

WTF, he just delivered a package only yesterday. HTF could he screw up today?
FedEx wondrous tracking has ZERO credibility.

I checked it multiple times... My roomate, BTW, just told me that he was sitting at the table, which is right by the door. Freaking FedEx...

USPS did the same thing to me. After a month, I found out my mail was on vacation hold :/... But, somehow, some (junk) mail was still slipping through. Right.

It really depends on the local delivery center whether they are good or not.
I've had problems with both FedEx and UPS in the past. Now, I just have
my package delivered to work.

Here, Fed Ex is the better of the two by far. The drivers for both are exceptionally nice, but Fed Ex just does a better job of taking care of the packages. I had a problem with UPS delivering at odd times for one package and ended up having to go pick it up before they sent it back. Fed Ex can leave the package at the door no problem.

I had ordered a some speakers (5.1 setup) and it had what the package was all over the box. Well, the Fed Ex guy had stopped by earlier in the day and my room-mate had been sleeping or something and didn't get the package. Well, the driver, knowing that it had to be good and expensive decided he'd not leave it. I got home and was pretty bummed at my room-mate and kinda sat around fuming (it was Friday and I was really looking forward to getting it). Well about 4:30 a knock at the door and its the Fed Ex guy making a second trip. It seriously made my day.

Here lately i've had several packages through UPS and they'd been no problem (missed it one day so they've started coming at a time when I can actually get it). The only problem is the packages still show that they aren't being handled the best. When I had to go pick up the package I had to wait around in the back for a little while and wow, they are horrible at taking care of packages. There was a conveyor belt with packages streaming by and some, even very large ones had fallen off and they hadn't done anything but let them lay there. One box showed obvious signs that the contents weren't in mint condition (was torn and smashed).
