Fedex just delivered something to me that wasnt mine

I had three packages coming today from Newegg, two whole computers. Well, my wife called and said we had 4. I knew they were sending me a customer appreciation gift, so I thought that the 4th was it. She opened it for me and it was this: Link I was doing my happy dance, thinking it was my gift when she saw the label was not our address. 🙁 It is a guy down the street. If she hadn't of seen that I would have thopught it was mine. I guess I can take it to him this evening. Who knew there was another geek lurking just 4 houses down?
 
And also the inevitable post that says "Dude, if you get something you didn't order, you get to keep it for free!"

Actually, I have never met the guy. Maybe he will let me use his wireless network now though 😀

Call FedEx up. They'll come pick it up for free.

btw, Im not at the house a couple of doors down..your gonna have to send it to this address in VA.
 
yeah, just bring it to him... don't even get Fedex involved... I'm sure he'll be thankful and you'll feel better knowing you did the right thing... after all, karma works in mysterious ways. maybe next time something will accidently get sent to your house with your address on it... and wallah!
 
If I don't get FedEx involved, is it possible I could get into trouble if they track it to me? Even though I'm going to take it to him so he won't have to wait a extra day for his stuff, I don't want them hasstling me either.
 
nice you got a customer appreciate gift. When I ordered my 2800+, I was eligible for 1 of 3 gifts. Turns out all 3 were out of stock.

Same thing with my motherboard. I could get a pen or something else and both were out of stock...

Seems newegg owes me.
 
Yeah, FedEx delivered some computer equipment I ordered from NewEgg to my neighbor's house once. Fortunately, my neighbor was nice enough to come by and give it to me.
