I just did a mobo swap, and right now I'm doing a clean install of XP Pro. I forgot the board doesn't come with onboard raid, so I am going to just hook up a single D740X "L" for the time being. I am considering a 180GB 180GXP or a Seagate 15K.3 w/ Adaptec 39320-R, but as of yet I cannot make a firm decision.

I will report back with some benchies later on. :)

I got mine yesterday. Inside my case is a freakin mess with bunch of scsi rounded cables. :(
I bent a pin in two of my LVD connectors. Luckly I straigthen them out and the drives were detected. Will install Win Pro tomorrow.
Good luck John! Your install seems to more smooth than me. ;)

This is a great board, i've been running mine for almost a month without problems.

A new bios for the AX4R+ was just released today. This also marks the first time I have done a bios flash in the O/S instead of DOS. All is well, and I am finishing up a clean install on my new DiamondMax Plus 9.

Thanks John for the head up on the new bios. Let us know any improvement in overclocking.

BTW, John, you using MBM 5 or Silent Tek?

Where did you get yours from? I'm still waiting for mine and they said it they would have it at the end of this month.

I got mine from Newegg. They got it for couple hours last Friday. I canceled my order with MyAopen.com because they kept pushing it back.
So far, looks great. I am running at 150fsb with default voltage.

That's great. I updated the BIOS. Nothing different (apparent at least) other than the startup screen now splashes the Vcore/Vdimm and FSB settings.

Replaced CPU on this board currently running 2.4C1 at 167FSB Default Vcore. Not a single issue. This board rocks.

Is there the power on ps2 keyboard/mouse feature in the bios?. I downloaded the manual but not detailed enough.

I'm not sure about that.

As far as the SilentTek goes, I haven't tried it out. I am not one that monitors temps, voltages, and needs to adjust my fan speeds. I run 21db Panaflos throughout my case, and @ 100% power they are near silent. Even when my system is under 100% load w/ Prime95 my max cpu temp is 54C.
