Laptop was packed in it's original shipping box. Point of impact is on the bottom of the box from something that had a pretty serious point on it.
It hit the box where it was heavily taped, so it didn't actually pierce the box. However, the impact was enough that it bent in the docking port on the bottom of the laptop as well as shattered the LCD.
I insured the box for $2k, but now that I think about it, they cost us more than that. Repairs shouldn't be that much tho. Still works, but can't dock obviously, cracks in the frame, and the screen is bad.
After treating me so well all this time, I guess I was due

Just called to get an update, as I hadn't been contacted and had not received any sort of correspondance since faxing in all the paperwork on 8/26.
A check in the amount of $975 was issued/sent on 8/31
So, all is well, and this laptop will see itself repaired to all its Thinkpad goodness
