FedEX delivery question

Currently, I have two packages that are estimated for delivery on 5/21/04 by 4:30PM. However, both packages' status were updated to "On FedEx vehicle for delivery" just this morning. Can I expect these to be delivered today or should I expect the "Not Due For Delivery" update tonight?

it'll probably be delivered today...I have a fedex # for a package that was delivered yesterday, so you can see the order of comments....

You will get them today, For me Fedex always shows up one day before estimated delievery. UPS always shows up when they say they will show.

It would be great if they got delivered today. That would mean I could build the HTPC and start getting it properly configured.

Or you can get drunk & pass out?

Always an option.

Hell from what I've seen UPS will send the package across the country and back just to make sure that the package doesn't get to you early. 😉

Yep you should get it today. Fed EX tends to deliver my packages a day earlier than the expected delivery date.

It's up to your delivery person. If they don't have time or are really busy you might not get them. This has only happened to me once though. Usually I get it the day it's on their truck.

Shuttle SK41G
XP1500+
1gb PNY Verto PC3500 (2x512mb)
16x Samsung DVD
20gb Maxtor (OS/Apps, dual boot WinXP and undetermined linux distro)
160gb Maxtor (data drive)

You should get it today. I did! My new mobo from NewEgg was supposed to come in tomorrow, but FedEx track showed it was on the truck this AM, and the box was at the front door not too long ago. I guess FDX Express Saver is 2 days, not 3 days, from NJ to NC 😀

It depends entirely on how many deliveries your fedEx guy has.

If they have a full day of deliveries, they will not even go out of their way by one minute to get your package to you early.

The FedEx drivers are hourly, and giving them more than their daily hours means they get OVERTIME. Especially this time of the year, when packages aren't sent in mass like around the holidays, overtime is a bad bad thing.

Goal 1 is to ensure that the packages that are scheduled for speedy delivery are delivered.
Goal 2 is to ensure that the drivers do not have overtime.
Goal 3 is to get every other package scheduled for delivery TODAY to its destination.
Goal 4 is to do any extra with remaining time.

Goal 5 is to make the package as "presentable" as possible even if it was dropped repeatedly multiple times 😛

No--this is FedEx, not Airborne Express. THen again, Airborne wouldn't bother with making package look presentable 😛

I've had dozens of FedEx packages delivered to my home (damn Newegg keeping me broke!) and so far only two or three times did they state it was on the truck for delivery and then not actually deliver it until the next day. Odds are in your favor.
