Well I live in Maryland and my package shipped from North Carolina this morning at 3:34am. It is going to be delivered tomorrow. However, I was wondering if anyone knows if the trucks that transfer packages from facility to facility go directly to the destination, or if they make stops between. NC -> MD is not that far, but its not next door.

The reason I ask is because the fedex facility is on my way home from work, and if it may be there by the time I get off work, i will just stop by and pick it up. And the reason I'm so antsy to get it today is because its my new driver, and I'm going to the range tonight w/some people and tomorrow I won't have time to go to the range.

So does anyone know if they stop between and drop off packages at other facilities, or if they go directly to the facility? Should I expect to have my package in the facility before I get off work?

EDIT:

I'm officially pissed off. my club is in the PENNSYLVANIA FACILITY!@!@! damnit, so it goes from NC -> PA -> MD ... what a buncha crap :(

no club for me tonight.

Well this isn't about the delivery truck. I'm %100 positive it will be going to the facility near my work, because ALL fedex packages I have ever had go to that one.

I'm just wondering if it the trucks that bring packages from facility to facility go directly from one to another, or if they stop at like 4-5 facilities on the way to their final destination dropping off packages to the other facilities.

That's a good question. Maybe you could call and ask and let us know?

I'd assume they'd stop at other facilities on the way though. More efficient and more economical. Combine 2 or more trips in one.

thats what i was thinking too, but i just hope they can reach the one by my house pretty quick :)

it's about a 400 mile distance between the two cities (beltsville, MD and charlotte, NC) so it's cutting it close. but its been out for almost 11 hours already and i have 3 more hours before i leave work, so i hope it makes it :(.

sorry if i want to try out my new driver, you know, when i'm actually at the driving range

does it bother you that much if i want to go out of the way to go pick it up a day early instead of having it sit at the facility overnight doing nothing?

check the tracking number...I do this all the time. If it says its at that local location by you..just stop by with the tracking number and be prepared to wait...they can usually find it. Just check the tracking # beforehand...i do this all the time
