fedex attempting to deliver multiple times

Is it common for fedex to attempt to deliver a package multiple times on the same day and its the same driver?

 

Maybe he had some extra time at the end of his route; it could have been a light package day.

When they miss my delivery, they just leave a message they will try back tomorrow.
