Authorities found Luna's idling car in a creek near Ephrata, Pennsylvania -- 70 miles from Baltimore -- about 5 a.m. Thursday, with his body underneath. Inside the car was a great deal of blood, as well as his cell phone and money, officials said.

Crooked because he carried money? I don't see anything to imply that he was crooked in the article. Most people tend to carry some money with them when they leave their homes. The article doesn't say anything about a very large sum of money being found in the car. I took the fact that the money was mentioned in the article as an implication that this was not a robbery gone bad.
An attorney for Smith said he had no reason to believe Smith was involved in Luna's killing.
