You know, she only made $58,000 from the whole deal even if she had insider information. How much do you think the US Government spent on her trial?

She was supposed to be an "example" but then they never really did anything about Enron or Worldcom. Why would you try to make an example out of a 58k deal? Who fvcking knows...

She is still on trial for impeding investigation. Prosecutors never expected the securities charge to stick anyways.
and celebrities don't get away with everything.

Because of Enron, two congressmen named Sarbanes and Oxley wrote a proposal holding all officers accountable, such as jail time, for revenue statistics that a company presents. Government did nothing? This has done WONDERS for revenue reporting...especially if you have to explain every detail to the officers.

they are not done with Enron.
I actually was pretty pissed off that they (the prosecuters and press) made a big deal out fo Stewart. What a waste of resources. Just fine her and move on. If she contests the fine then motion hearings.

Yeah! Just look at Robert Downey Jr. He was arrested several times for drug and weapons posession and got a stiff community service sentence! 😉

What are they doing with Enron? The Healthsouth debacle is pretty big news here, but I haven't heard anything about Enron. They've already gotten guilty pleas and indictments on pretty much every person involved for Healthsouth.
