Two federal agencies have joined the "boycott Arizona" trend and nixed conferences there out of concern over the state's immigration law, a Democratic Arizona congresswoman said, calling the development "very troubling."
"It is very troubling when the federal government becomes involved in a boycott against our state," Giffords said in a written statement. "Although I personally disagree with the immigration law, it came about because of growing frustration over the federal government's unwillingness to secure the border. The federal government's participation in this boycott only adds to that frustration."

TheseDemocrat ass clowns in D.C. are really out of touch. Maybe if they did their job and enforced their own laws Arizona wouldn't have to enforce their laws for them.

I will give the Democrats in Arizona credit. At least they get the fact the D.C. is "unwilling" to secure the border thus forcing the state to do their job.

The war is coming. It's getting closer, but it's coming. What happened the last time the fed pissed off the states so much? I don't know, sometime around 1860s?

The million or so citizens who died in the fighting. I suspect if a civil war actually erupted it would be the bloodiest war this country ever fought.

Don't think so. Unless, the Arizona gov't and it's citizens have been stocking piling tanks, planes, etc...

Did anyone read the article? This is just another Patranus troll thread.

The cancellations by the Department of Education and the U.S. Border Patrol may have been more out of a desire to steer clear of controversy than outright protest of the law...

According to Giffords, the Education Department canceled a convention set for October at a Tucson resort after the Mexican government said it would not send any representatives to the meeting. The department then moved the event to Minnesota.

Further, her office said the Border Patrol canceled a conference set for May at a resort in Prescott after an official asked that it be moved out of concern over the immigration law debate. The Border Patrol -- which has more than 4,000 agents in Arizona, representing nearly a quarter of its force -- had booked 40 rooms for the event before canceling.
404: Government boycott of Arizona not found.

I'll let you get back to your Obama hate circlejerk though.

This is a war between states rights and an over-reaching federal government. States have a right and a responsibility to stand against the tyrany of the federal government. If the Federal Government does not secure the border then the southern states have a right to withold funds from the federal government. The situation between the federal government and the states represents a contract that has been broken.

This has nothing to do with O'Bammah. However, O'Bammah has the responsibility as the Commander-in-chief to secure the border. Bush also had the responsibility to secure the border but he was a failure also.

Did you even read the OP?

I don' think you helped your case.
The conference was (pointlessly) moved BECAUSE of the law.
Now, if 1/4 of your workforce was in 1 location why would you move your conference and increase travel costs.

Government in action.

Yes, I read your worthless OP, and then I read the article you linked to.

It is NOT a government sponsored boycott as your OP and Fox News state.

Avoiding controversy is what SHOULD be done in cases such as this, despite what you think.

Wait federal gov't agencies are protesting an arguably bad local policy in Arizona that was created solely due to the fact the federal gov't policy was lacking.... /head explodes

The "controversy" over this law is non existent except in the mind of the "progressives" who are pandering to illegal immigrants.

For one, the National Guard belonging to each state would end up choosing its loyalties, and I'd bet on the states for that. For two, think of it like an insurgency - the locals sneaking about in the territory they know, setting up ambushes on federal troops. For three, if the states and citizens were somehow willing to fight the federal government, then a show of tanks/plans won't do much, it'll be the bloody use of them that ends this hypothetical second civil war.

You are assuming that all branches and division of the military would join the federal government.
