Fed only cuts 25 BP

Makes "perfect" sense given the strength of the consumer confidence and home sales figures from last month. Unfortunately, the Fed has the dual responsibility of full employment (growth) and price stability. If they lower rates too far, they risk inflation if the economy starts charging forward all of a sudden.

Believe it or not, a 50 basis point drop could be bad for the markets because they would question "what does the Fed know that we don't? They've already dropped rates by a large amount this year. Why do they keep dropping?"
