Feb 23, magic date for p4?

I read in another thread that Intel will be dropping prices around Feb 23? Is this true? I have been considering buying a 2.4B for 190 from newegg, but I can wait a few days if it will save me some dough!

Wait for the 2.4 ghz HT enabled 800 fsb cpus oldfart. 🙂

Those should go very nicely with a springdale board you're going to buy.
😛

Hrmmmf... I'm trying to decide which CPU to get for a rig, that I'll be building sometime around April.
When will lower clock speed CPU's with HT be out?
Will there be C1 HT chips?

Thanks,
Yeti

should be close, april/may , all 800 fsb chips will be C1.

intel processor prices are not the only one to drop next week
AMD will also drop prices in response to intel's
that means we get all-round lower prices
yay🙂
then i might be able to get the 1700+ or 2100+ that i've waited sooooo long for😀

Will there be lower clocked Prescotts? Yes, next mobo is either Springdale or Canterwood. I've done very well holding onto my (very nice) Epox 4BDA2+ 845D for almost a year! The thing is, 2.4 @ 800 FSB does not leave much room for overclocking (memory speed limitation). I think I will want a higher clocked Prescott for that reason.
