Feature suggestion re: Spam

Jason, here's a brainstorm: put a little Spam-can icon somewhere on a thread. If people feel it's Spam, they can click that, enter their Forum password for confirmation, and if the thread gets voted to be Spam by more than ten separate Forum members (or however many), it sends out the Mod Signal to the Moderators :Q and they get into the ModMobile and layeth the smack down

Eh? 😀

...like the "report this thread to the Moderator" thing that currently exists in other forum softwares, and that has been added in the next Fusetalk.

Potential abuse is why I suggested that at least X number of separate people would need to report the thread for it to actually get reported (plus I would presume the Mods would be able to see who's voting the thread to their attention). But all in all, I suspect this is one of those ideas that's simply NGTH 🙂

I think that enough of us here know to PM a mod or start a thread here if there is good cause. Adding a button like that would just give the noobs and asshats something to abuse.

you both have very valid points...

unbiased info:
at bash.org we have a similar "button" availible that tells you that it resubmits the quote for re-approval, when infact the button does nothing at all except give you a perty page. it does this because it was abused.

as per a feature of fusetalk that could be enabled I think this is a great idea. as per this forum that would have to be left up to those in charge.
