You really want to equate raising taxes on rich people 3% to gutting health and assistance services for poor people? Or equate the Occupy movement to the Tea Party? Or the current "nanny state" to the "I've got mine fuck you" conservative utopia they're trying to bring about? Because you must be if you're trying to keep up this equivalency charade.

The ONLY point I have made is that people on the left have lots of things they fear, just like people on the right. You're the one who brought up legislation or started assessing which movements were stronger than others.

Sorry, but the agendas of the far ends of both spectrums are driven almost entirely by fear.

In relation to a person's fear of government, then yes liberals, and communists like yourself LOVE government. Anarchists fear and possibly hate government.

That is an improper measure of whether or not a person is generally fearful.

Fear and hate? These are words for reactionaries and the paranoid, aren't you supposed to be a follower of the Jesus Guy?

Well, at least its not your usual evil female invaders from planet x sucking your god-man bro essense like nephelem.

Maybe we can petition Koch, heritage or Cato to hire some better righties. You guys are getting to the nut encrusted bottom of the barrel.

I'm not really buying this one, sorry.

It seems to me that how one measures "fear" is very highly dependent on one's own biases, what sorts of questions are asked, and how they are asked.

I see no shortage of fear among liberals, many of those fears being just as irrational as fears among the right, only different ones. Certainly the spectacle we've seen since Newtown has illustrated this quite nicely.

This.

/thread.

So considering how quick liberals are to label anyone who opposes SSM as homophobes wouldn't that imply that it is really liberals who are paranoid(fearful)?

Liberals live off of creating fear in the sheep that go bleating after them. 'They'll take away your welfare!!!! They'll take away your social security!! They'll take away your medicare!!!! They'll starve children and old people!!! They'll kill mother earth!!!! THEY'LLLLL RAPE YOUR DOOOOOGGGG!!!!'

The sequester battle is heating up again and the drumbeat of fear from the left is already beating. Just watch.

Excellent post

This whole thread is literally a circle jerk for the usual suspects to confirm their biases

Fact is a fact. Just because you do not wish to accept it shows your privilege in a society that still accepts old religious bigotry against fellow people. History of course has already left you in the dark ages with such nonsense.

Liberals are the ones that choose to use *phobes to refer to people that disagree with them. According to your own statement that makes liberals reactionaries and paranoid.

Do you discriminate? Yes? Then you are a low class person. The term phone is a old term from the 20th century, its not a phobia about gays is your problem. Its bigotry and ignorance from a lazy minded fearful person. Not very self responsible IMO.

You have made no point then. The "far end" of the left isn't driving any legislative agenda, so big shit what it believes, and you're completely disregarding any legitimacy that comes from having a factual basis to base one's fears on.

If conservatives want to paint "fairness" as strictly part of the liberal agenda so be it. Democrat politicians thank you for the votes you're sending their way.

Except the only thing the bill has to do with "fairness" is its name as was evidenced by the discussion in the thread.

Its all about pandering to the fear that money grubbing corporations will pay men more to do the same work.

This is a rather funny thread. Somebody publishes another study of what science has already proven, that fear makes people more conservative. Getting drunk does too.

So what happens is that every conservative and conservative apologists jumps up to take a shit because of nothing more than labels, with liberals responding in kind.

But all that was said is that fear causes a conservative reaction. Conservatives fear out groups so they oppose immigration. Liberals fear guns so they oppose them. In the first case conservatives are more conservative on the issue, conservative on immigration and in the second the liberals are more conservative, want to restrict guns. Pro immigration and pro gun are the liberal side of those coins.

Edit: NVM, I see what you're saying.

I guess being pro immigration and pro gun really does make me an ultra-liberal.

Equating both sides with each other doesn't work when "liberals" have far fewer out groups than "conservatives" by their very ideologies.
