I was digging through my hard drive today and happened to stumble onto a very awesome poem that a friend of mine did a few years back. I think it's so moving that I thought I'd share it with you. Enjoy.

by Jennifer Blackwell

A single tear falls from my face
My heart aches with pain that I have caused.
I shutter to look at the person looking back at me.
I sit here contemplating my fate.
I hold everything in these little hands.
Gripping tightly to the bars of life
I look up as I hang there.
What if I let go?
Where would I go?
I take a breath and close my eyes.
Trying to find the strength to hold on.
To see the light of another day.
I cry for fear I will not make it.
What if I fail?
Would anyone take a second glance?
Would anyone look back?
Can anyone see me?
Please let someone see me?.

Yes, but you can still "shutter" in fear, or cold, or a number of things. Shutter is both a noun and an action verb. :)

Depends on the context.

No, that would be "shudder".
