so i was thinking about buying fear for multiplayer so i got the mp demo to try it.
no way in hell am i buying this game, its already full of hackers and cheaters.
too bad this has ruined what could have been a good game.

why the hell can't people just play the game like it was meant to be played?
i don't care what you do in SP, but when you go MP, drop the hacks, trainers, and cheats.

well, look for the developer's site and see if they are going to release a patch for it, it could end up like halo 2 on xbl, and the modding/standbying wont go away, or they could get a clean patch out, you never know.

no, i was going to buy it, but i tried the demo 1st. i'm glad i didn't. i almost bought it last weekend. i guess my next option is quake 4 but i'm not sure if i really want it.
i want an mp demo of quake 4.

oh wait, i almost forgot my free copy of CoD2! i hope that gets here soon. although i wasn't all that impressed with the original CoD2 mp.

A lot of companies release patches that stop hackers... for ten minutes...

Yes you do... patches fix problems. If hacking is a problem, then a patch should be released to fix it. Sounds to me like you don't know how the gaming system works and shouldn't play games at all.

Yes you do... patches fix problems. If hacking is a problem, then a patch should be released to fix it. Sounds to me like you don't know how the gaming system works and shouldn't play games at all.

hackers use 3rd party programs that allow them to cheat. a patch isn't going to do anything to fix that. they need stuff like punkbuster, which still is pretty bad, but at least its something.

fps games are meant to be played mp.

fps games are meant to be played mp.

The games you mentioned (Q3, BF2) are only meant to be played mp, but many other FPSes are not (Escape from Butcher Bay is SP only and it's an awsome game!). Anyway, it's just an opinion, you can do whatever you like. I was just pointing out that Q4, Fear, and CoD2 all have strong singleplayer.

Patches can fix ways that 3rd party programs use to cheat.

hackers/cheaters need to do either so they can compete with us good players who don't cheat. Personally they will never get better cheating and really I feel sorry for someone who wins a game by cheating and thinks highly of themselves for winning. When I win a match I've accomplished something. If they win while cheating/hacking is the hack/cheat that did it and not them but they probably don't see it that way.

Of course you have the few a$$ hats that do it just to piss ppl off.

Either way when I buy a FPS'er I do it for both the SP and MP but mostly for MP.
