Just got caught up with episode 4. This show is awful. There's no reason to watch it. Nothing interesting happens. There's no story here that adds anything to the canon. There's no interesting characters. There weren't even any ZOMBIES in episode 4. I'm going to keep recording in case it gets good, then I'll get caught up. As of right now, I see no reason to continue watching.

what i like is that if you learn how much an episode is costing
you start questioning where the money really goes

a little make up to make some fresh zombies is not that expensive to implement

gee funs that do the zombie walk for the fun
they do not spent thousands of dollars to dress up like zombies

only for the studies anything cost an awful amount of money

th corporation greed to a new level
they make a zombie series but they do nto have money for zombies
lol

i am waiting the next level
45 minutes made out of 45 pictures
more economic
lol

episode 4 was useless
we do not have any script
we do not know what to do
just shoot some scenes
and call it an episode

I want to roll my eyes right out of my head watching this show. And yet I keep watching, because AMC apparently owns me.

Someone got fragged. Saw that coming...

So... They ran a U.S. Army recruiting commercial late in the show. Not the best timing?

And how did Michael Irvin get locked up in an Army prison? And why of all people, he needs the "talents" of a heroin addict he doesn't know and has no way of knowing what his talents are... Other than, you know, being an addict?

Drug addict who's willing to off people or break the rules would be useful in an escape attempt -- I wouldn't want step daddy in a bad situation with me?

Terrible, and getting worse. I laughed out loud at how ridiculous it was multiple times.

So... according to IMDB, the daughter and the Manawa's son are 22. Michael Irvin is 49. And Ofelia is 33?

No one looks their age...

Every episode I watch now just pisses me off more on their portrayal of the US Army. They're being portrayed as a bunch of bumbling, crooked, idiots with no sense of morality.

...and with little to no motivation for their actions. I guess they're just evil!

The CO of the more compassionate ones appeared to have an accident. More than one way to look at that one...

I guess you missed the "power tripping 5-0" line early in the show when Ophelia was at the gates yelling at the men. LOL

Yeah it's ridiculous. They're evil for the sake of being evil?

Oh hide from the riot. We only have power two hours a day. Don't talk about zombies it'll scare the children. Everybody else is dead but us while we play monopoly.

FYI no spoiler tags needed, this is a live discussion thread.

And yeah, we LOL'd when they were like "the Army was going to kill everyone & roll out" and then the "Join the Army" commercial came on. What poor timing

That was one of the LOL-worthy lines for me to. I had to pause the DVR to laugh at how stupid that was.

Conspiracy theory: They made this show terrible so that when The Walking Dead returns, we cling to it like gold (as the lesser of two evils).

The end scene was neat as our torturer magically transports himself to the LA stadium (which I assume is many miles away from the neighborhood) - no army goons or walkers along the way. Ughh. This show is terri-bad.

That's the thing...they're acting hardcore, like they've been in zombie combat for months. It's been 9 days. Ranks wouldn't fall apart that quickly if the plague hit...sure, the soldiers would be freaked out (especially having to lock all of those people in the stadium), but they're acting like they've been at zombie war forever.

I don't buy it.

What did the black guy show Nick when he asked him what his plan was? It looked like a gold coin. Is he going to bribe his way out, or is it a special coin that means he is someone important?

I think the military is treating the civilians like prisoners because even after only 9 days this squad lost their first protected zone (stadium). I would assume other squads have had similar problems protecting groups of people in the beginning due to lack of knowledge on how it spreads and that everyone has it. Now the policy is no one joins or leaves the group and anyone who may die of natural causes or cause a problem is removed from the group. Although with LA about to be abandoned by the military even that must not be working and they are just going to kill everyone. I assume that is what happened with Atlanta and the planes dropping napalm.

Finally showed the low moral and break down of chain of command of the soldiers. With several of them not wanting to follow their commanders orders. The commander seems to be keeping them in order by force and fear. Sending them out on missing constantly with no rest. This keeps them busy and tried and lessens the chance of mutiny.
