FEAR sound problem

I can't play FEAR without the sound being disabled in the fear config program. I can run sound in every other game. EAX and everything is disabled In-game. I have proper sound drivers for my integrated sound. If anyone knows how to fix this issue tell me please! Thanks.

what exactly happens when you try to play with the sound not disabled exactly?

It gives me that same error i get with guitar hero 3, which i figured out what the problem was AFTER I reformatted and reinstalled windows to no avail. For Guitar Hero 3 in the minimum requirements, my Athlon XP 3200+ is not powerful enough. Which is ridiculous because it's just guitar hero. Ok well i start up FEAR with sound on and it just gives me that damn error where it tells me absolutely nothing. What exactly do you need the make and model of?

has this been ongoing as long as the GH3.EXE issue? or was it happening before then?

what Antivirus and Antispyware do you use?

Well the FEAR problem has been existent every time I've installed it (FEAR multiplayer) I use Avira AntivirGuard My friend also uses this and he plays FEAR fine, so I don't think that's the issue. And like I said the GH3 issue if because the game doesn't support my CPU.

so, has this been ongoing before you installed gh3, I asked. have you checked to see if the cd is damaged or scratched?

Yes this has been going on since before GH3. Which CD guitar hero? Cuz FEAR multiplayer was free, from Sierra Entertainment. The Guitar Hero cd is not messed up. I installed it at my friends house, and it worked perfectly fine. So I dont think its the CD, just my pc.

oh, you downloaded it? well, I'd uninstall fear, delete the downloaded file, and run ccleaner. then run housecall. then install a good antispyware and have it check the pc, and then look into redownloading the fear multiplayer from a better site.

I did some googling and have seen a few people having issues with a certain trojan being installed with Avira, I'd recommend moving to a different antivirus as well.

Well, i know what causes the error. eax.dll

EDIT: Alright well all i did was delete the old eax.dll and download a new one. Everything is running fine now. Hopefully problem SOLVED.
