Wow, seriously graphics limited even at 1024x768. Even minimum frame rates are not affected by the processor on the first page of results :Q

Dude, before you posted this, did you think to yourself "but Maetryx's wife will kill him if he buys another $450 video card when he already has one!" Well DID YOU!

I dont get why anadtech's 1024x768@32 4X AF results are so low ..Im getting much better results with just a single 7800GTX & X2 4800+ , Nothing is overclocked ,using default "High" settings for Computer & Graphics in FEAR (retail version w/ 1.1 patch): results They dont mention if they're using the latest official 81.85 forceware drivers which have Dual Core performance enhancments.

They don't have to mention it, because they're not using a dual core processor....(if you mean AT)

I don't buy that, it may not help any "benchmarks" but the consensus is that it helps with the stuttering when moving rapidly or around corners as well as load times.

Yep.. Even in BF2, it seems lke the memory made no difference once you were fully loaded in game, but for map loads and first minutes of each round, the 1GB of RAM was just such a nightmare... 2GB is soooo much better for smooth operation.

lol I feel sad for those people who thinks they can have super good performance with FX-57 / 7800 gtx on water when the fact remains that a 3200+ and 2x7800gt can on air is faster.

Yes, FEAR does really benefit from SLI. Unfortunately, I'd never buy $900 worth of video equipment just to play a game. You can get an Xbox360 and a PS3 (when it comes out) for that price!

i dont feel sad for them at all, they should have known SLi and slower CPU would outperform non SLI and fast CPU

Cost to run all of them perfectly? Too much.

All of them can be ran on regular rigs in the $800-$1000 price range though.
I'm amazed in these forums how people consider a 6600GT a "sh!tty card".. its actually not that bad IMO.. unless you want uber res in every game.. esp the games that dont look nearly good enough to warrant their system requirements like FEAR.

Stick with Source/Doom3/UE based games if you have a NORMAL/SANE rig with a sane pricetag.
These engines like FEAR seem to be relatively a joke. Its not that great looking, I wouldnt say it looks better than Quake 4.
Pretty much still the only full per pixel lighting/shadow engine on the market as far as I know.

Amazing how the min frames of like 36 stioll even with SLI though the MAX was like 230+...I haven't seen swings like that before...Look like it still needs some optimization...

Everyone has their threshold.

I'm a computer gamer, so I'd rather pay at the gate. SLI for me, no dumbed down console version.
