Hoping you guys can help. I love FEAR, but these issues are getting to me. every time I walk up the the security guy (Interval 4) to give him a commlink, the game freezes. the first time I talked to him, it was fine, but everytime since then, it hasnt worked.

aside from that, every time I try to exit the game, the screen starts blinking black... I can normally CTRL, ALT, DEL out, but its still annoying.

Im gonna try setting the overclock back to normal, but we shall see, I have been having these issues since before then.

Specs:

Opteron 165 (at 2.7 GHz)
Lanparty SLI- DR Expert
Nvidia 7900GT (running at 515 core and 769 mem)
2x 1gig OCZ EL Platinum

Fear is patched to 1.07, runing 91.47 drivers.

any ideas?

tried at stock, still happening. no artifacting, sure its not hardware. Will try different drivers, but I think I need new drivers/ a new game patch....

as I said in the original post, am already patched to 1.07. Guess a fresh install cant hurt, might try the drivers too, just in case.

Sounds like "blanking" to me, the infamous 7900GT problem that had plagued many of the original ones.

Download Comanche 4 DirectX? 8.1 Benchmark Demo from the following link.

Cards that have that problem can be triggered when running this benchmark.
Give it a try.

You can also underclock both your memory and core until it stops doing that (blanking) to confirm.
When did you buy your 7900GT?

How are you cooling your RAM?

Ok, this one I got from RMA about a month ago? my first one went crazy, think it was the mem overheated maybe? sure it was the ram anyways, whatever happened.

as for cooling, nothing additional. my case has pretty good airflow overall, but what can I use to monitor the mem temps? I will play with underclocking, see if it helps...
