yea, the game actually feels pretty smooth even at 30fps.

Does the CPU options have much to do with frame rates. currently i'm on max with all of them

does volumetric light matter, the game has a message saying it significantly affects performance
 
i gave up monitoring my frames per second.

If the game runs smooth and good for you what do the frames per second really mean?

But then the game won't be nearly as creepy.

F.E.A.R. is one game I don't mind giving up some performance for eye candy.
 
people shouldn't be telling you to turn down anything.

He said his FPS drops to 50 when he starts shooting. So thats around 50 minumum. Leave settings how they are.
 
Yeah, I'm a little lost here as to why you are concerned about the FPS dropping to 50 as a minimum. That's pretty good.
