I've been home sick, so I've been watching a lot of TV, and much of it makes me sick.

The worst thing I've seen was "Family Fear Factor" where they put some 11 year old girl up on a 100' catwalk and had her spend 30 minutes in the driving wind trying to pull off flags she simply was not tall enough to reach. She completed the mission, but was so slow because she was so small that they were eliminated anyways.

Child abuse?

Discuss.

I was watching this also, another stunt was this 12 year old girl who sits in this plastic box with giant roaches dumped on her while her mom encourages her :frown:

oh it was even worse was the cockroach stunt...I saw the mother locking her 11 year old daughter in a box with cockroaches while wht mother had to get a couple mouthfulls out into another box...
before the event started i heard
Mother: Dont you mess this up
Child looking scared
Mother: I worked for 4 years as a waitress to get my first car and you will be able to get one from sitting with some cockroaches
child looking even more scared
mother: dont you lose this for us

I saw some recent special on VH1 like the inside of game shows or something and what they make those people do is ghastly. Of course people keep auditioning each season since most of society will do anything for money.

 That's pitiful. What a sweet, caring mother. NOT!

I cant watch that show, it irritates me the crap people will put up with for money.

The amazing thing is that they cant even be sure they would get the money. If I *Knew* I would get 50G, I'd consider some of that crap. But its a freaking gamble!

I think it would be funny if they had a show where they really showed people (producers of these sows) what it's like to be afraid.

I don't mean grossed out, but literally afraid of for your life. Like, woken up at gunpoint, bound, gagged, and thrown in the back of a truck full of armed people that look like Al-Queida members. They could tape the whole thing and show it on TV, it'd be hilarious.

I don't think I'd be too fearful b/c you aren't actually going to get hurt. And eating all that gross stuff really doesn't have anything to do with fear in my opinion. That show annoys the crap out of me and so does Joe Rogan.

oh the physical stuff don't bother me. I would go on the show for a chance of what $100k? or is it $50k?

But the eating the nasty stuff would bother me. I don't mind climbing high on a catwalk in the wind or such. but couldn't eat the sheep's penis etc.

but i wouldn't put my children through this.

he annoys me as well.
he was tolerable in News Radio. but on FF, and God-forbid, the Man Show.
ugh...

and yes, its a revolting, terrible show.

The fun of watching FF is that you get to see people suffer.

I remember one of their best shows, where some guy had to eat some really, really, really fowl fish infested with bugs. The guy finished about 5 seconds too late, and was cursing when he got kicked. I was LMAO.

The grosser, the better. Haven't seen someone gag in a while.

That was the guy that talking sh!t the whole time he was eating it. And he was stopping to chat, and Joe told him to shut up and eat. Then he lost. It was GOLDEN!!😛

I like watching other people's "safe" suffering, so it's fine by me 😛

Do you think anyone has ever gotten an infection from the crap they have to eat?

Edit: It would be hillarious if the host (he bugs me) got some horrible festering sore on his eye or something... I'd pay to watch that.

I imagine they are fairly scrupulous about making sure the "foods" won't actually sicken anyone in any lasting way.

Fear Factor really is a terribly exploitative show IMO, and I had no idea they had children on it nowadays. The descriptions here do indeed sound like child abuse to me.
