you would expect ending the game with a super scary scene with a big fight in FEAR
but no!...you basically shoot the little girl a few times and she's dead (the game gets easier and easier toward the end)
and the game ended with the little girl appearing again climbing up to the chopper which scares everyone inside the chopper and that's how the game ends ==

Hmmm... sounds interesting. I hate games that have ridiculously difficult endings. Sounds like a new idea... make the beginning of the game the hardest, then if you start to get bored with the game as you go through it, you're not convinced to put it down and never finish it because it's boring and difficult. If it becomes easy and boring, at least you're not wasting time repeating the same battles over and over trying to get past them.

Right, except I guess you would rather have to repeat the first level over and over, just to be able to play it... LOL, that doesn't make any more sense. People will throw the game away if they cannot beat the first level...

I'm more likely to play the first or second level over and over because I'm still excited about the new game I have. :) I didn't finish Far Cry on normal difficulty because I went through the game without much trouble until I got to the Volcano level and I could barely step out into the open without getting slammed by 16 rockets. I ended up turning on God mode and finishing it to see the ending, which was a huge disappointment.

On the other hand... I never finished Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox either because it just starts off too hard. :)

I don't dissagree with you about the part of not wanting to finish the game due to difficulty... But I would just rather have the game be pretty much the same skill level through it, which is something I think you would agree with. The skill curve is too sharp right now, but then again, I am probably just a "candy-ass" gamer (referring to another thread).

In the end, I never got passed the second level in Far Cry, the game is very beautiful, but it lacked gameplay, majorly. I never finished half life 2, but that was due to boredom, not skill.

You didn't miss much... it gets silly with the Trigens later on in the game. Killing people was the most fun... kill Trigens is... meh.

Fear wasn't all that impressive, now i've played about 20 minutes of quake 4 and this is even worse than fear. Serious Sam 2 has also got be bored 15 minutes into it. I think I just don't care about gaming any longer.

Actually, I enjoyed Fear quite a lot.

I think the difference is, I played it after coming off 12 hours shifts when I was super tired. I kept getting freaked out by the subliminals and music as well as the "tripping" scenes to the blood soaked hospital or the flaming limbo.

Fighting soldiers with guns was 100% better than aliens with lasers any day. The tactics the AI uses at the higher difficulty levels is sweet. It reminded me of the special forces attacks in the first Half Life, only harder.

I finished the game and I was going nuts when the crazy psychic holes kept opening up and the demons (?) would fly at me in swarms. Sure they died fast, but it was crazy.

The "big-explosion" was nicely done...

As for Quake 4, I played a while yesterday at my brothers house... Doom3 with flashlights, super

Thanks for the spoilers.

I won't be touching this game even if it reaches the bargain bin.

Um... I don't like to call people names but and I really really want to call you an idiot but I won't. IT SAID SPOILER IN THE TITLE. So unless your saying you don't want to play the game because it doesn't sound like fun, then the only person you have to blame is yourself.

Either way I think your missing out on a great game, and even if not purchased now, it should still be purchased by and FPSer who hasn't already gotten it when it hits the bargain bin.

Ok,I just finished FEAR and I was a little disapointed, meaning the game up to the very last level was very well done and having that really different ending was kinda neat and fresh, however, there should have been more and I would have to believe that there is a add-on coming down the pike real soon with that kind of ending, well, I hope so anyway!

So just how many scary moments are there in FEAR?...havent bought the game yet.

Thats kinda tuff to answer since everyone is so different but yes there are some moments in the game that really startled me especially at the begining.

But all in all to me it wasn't that scary but it was a very well made game.

CA

I didn't think it was that bad since she didn't look that menacing anyway.

Man, I was hoping I'll be able to fight that Paxton guy. If not with guns aleast some hand to hand combat. But no, I pointed my handgun to his forehead and pulled the trigger thinking it wouldn't do anything to him because all the other times he was able to vanish away. Pop, one bullet and he's dead. I was like WTF, that's it?

Nah...the end of HL2 was great. The super gravity gun kicked butt.
