It's a real beast, stock at 200/400, got it up to 300/500 easily. 64-bit RAM as well 😉

FEAR was astoundingly brutal, i left it on the settings i'd been very happily playing with my 6600GT, so 1024, everything maxed except soft shadows, 0xAA/8xAF...ready for it? 😉

100% of frames under 25

Source stress test was much kinder, at 1024/everything maxed/0xaa/8xaf it managed 22.8fps 🙂 That was up from 16.8fps at 200/400 😉

It is very nice to have 32-bit colour and resolutions above 1024 in windows again tho 😀
 
HA HA...thats gotta suck...I would have stuck with the Virge...5200's are suckier than our politicians
 
I accidentally bought a FX5200 256 mb O_O boy did i learn my lesson.. promptly bought a 6600GT after to make up for its horribility

the only thing going for a FX5200 is that it will RUN a game, dont ask me abotu playing them it will run

I recall tweaking FarCry from low to below low using the configs, just to run it better
Also similar in D3

For HL2 engine, the shaders recalled to DX7/8 or something, so the reflections looked awful.

I dropped the card down to my dad 😛

All FX Models do this, it hurt when I went on CS Source Beta with the FX 5900XT
 
My dad happily games on a FX5200 256MB, lol. He mainly plays Settlers, FM2006 & BFME2 so nothing too strenuous.

I nearly bought one when my GeForce3 Ti-500 died but instead got a GeForce4 Ti-4200 and never looked back, lol.

dug, is your Virge faster than my S3 Trio 3D/2X?
 
Jesus, I baught a 6100 for my mother just for her to have graphics for windows. What the hell is a 5200FX going to do? Haha.

the 5200 DX9 support is absolutly crap. try it in DX8 mode.

Ordered my 6800GS yesterday, 450/600 stock 😎

It's a good thing the fx5200 sucks donkey nuts, otherwise i'd waste my time playing games atm, when i should be working...
