fcpga or slot 1?

I am looking to get a new processor, I have an Abit BF-6 motherboard waiting and some Infineon 133 RAM. Which incarnation of the PIII would you choose, oh yeah--of course it will be cB0 stepping, probably 850 MHz--looking to do the 133x8.5 dance.

I was mostly wondering which one would be more easily cooled with a standard cooling method--i.e. Alpha, Orb, etc? Does it even make a difference?

I tried searching for similar threads, but came up empty-handed.

All input appreciated. :)

Get the FC-PGA. It's more versatile for the long run since it fits either a Slot 1 or a Socket 370 mobo with a 'slocket.' Performance is about the same and same with cooling.

Get an Abit slocket with an Abit board.

I wouldn't get an 850 - that's too fast and you'll never do 133 with it. Go for a 750 max and shoot for 1000 and be happy. If Intel can barely do 1000, how are you going to do better (although it does occasionally happen). Put the money saved into good RAM. Like this:

If you look at prices the sweet spot is around the 750/100 to my eye, also. See:
