Fcking internet keeps dying =[

My internet has been dying off and on since last Saturday. It stays off for hours at a time in some cases. On the modem, the power and pc light will stay lit but the cable light will die. i've tried unplugging the power for 30 seconds and plugging it back in (the *ONLY* suggestion ever made by time warner tech support) numerous times. i tried using a different cable to go to the modem. i have switched out network cables. i have swtiched routers and plugged into the modem directly as well. i called monday and they said they wouldn't be able to send anyone out until saturday (tomorrow). i'm really tired of waiting, i don't even know if this will post or if i will have a chance to even read responses. help🙁

Have you try another cable modem? Go to a best buy or Fry's, pick one up and see it works. If its not the modem, return it.

One more thing, you try another network card?

Like werk said, how many splitters do you have in between where the line enters the premises and when it hits the cable modem? Also what's the rating on each leg of the splitters used? Could be that the signal is getting too weak and that's why its dropping out.

[spelling nazi]Perhaps you'd like some insight into spelling ?😛 [/spelling nazi]

Unscrew the cable plate from the wall - replace the metal piece that sits between the line in the wall and the jack. Mine was replaced and no problems whatsoever. Before I was getting about 95% packet loss from the cable company.
