Okay, this is kind of a history lesson for me, but as I remember it the FC-PGA Intel procs were all multiplier locked and couldn't be manipulated. A company I just bought a 850MHz FC-PGA celeron from sent me a 900MHz part, but it won't work in my motherboard which only has an 8.5x multiplier. They e-mailed me back telling me it's just fine to run the 900 @ 850, but I thought I can't do that because the mobo doesn't support 9x and it's clock locked.
Before I start flaming this company for sending me the wrong product, am I right? Isn't the Celeron FC-PGA line all clock-locked? Or is there something I need to be doing with the mobo to make it work with the 900.... it doesn't even post or give video with this current 900 piece.
BookPC BKi810 mobo for those wondering
