Very interesting. Maybe the Russians or whoever did it can effectively use the election system to influence our elections. Maybe one approach should be to selectively delete the registration records of people registered to one party or the other which would render them ineligible to cast a vote in some locales since without the registration record they're SOL. Or create new "voters" out of whole cloth and have people go vote in their name. Thankfully Democrats oppose all voter identity verification so that won't be hard.

The FBI has uncovered evidence that foreign hackers penetrated two state election databases in recent weeks, prompting the bureau to warn election officials across the country to take new steps to enhance the security of their computer systems, according to federal and state law enforcement officials.

The FBI warning, contained in a “flash” alert from the FBI’s Cyber Division, a copy of which was obtained by Yahoo News, comes amid heightened concerns among U.S. intelligence officials about the possibility of cyberintrusions, potentially by Russian state-sponsored hackers, aimed at disrupting the November elections.

Not surprising at all. I'm all in favor of using modern technology instead of old fashioned paper ballots etc, but there is definitely a bigger risk that an all-digital system can be more easily compromised or tampered with on a larger scale.

It's bad enough we have to choose between the corrupt scumbag and the douchebag, but the prospect of someone being able to hack in and tamper with elections on a large scale is even worse.

Putin is going all out on supporting Trump, because what Trump is saying about NATO is music to his ears.

Wait, so in your OP you report on a situation that very much renders the concern over voter ID completely moot, yet argue that voter ID laws championed by "concerned" Republicans would somehow defend against this type of attack?

What does this have to do with Benghazi, again?

Well you see, Zin, there was this email server in this bathroom, and Vince Foster was using the throne...

Haha, my first thought.

You know repubs are wracking their brains for a law that will (supposedly) solve this new issue while screwing over minorities. How about a "Secure Voting System Fee"? You see, it's not a poll tax! It's a fee! For security! Don't you want security?

OP turns a serious cybersecurity electoral issue into a debate supporting voter ID laws, as if we didn't know you weren't stupid enough already.
