Guys, I want to tell you about a problem I have with my PC. If some of you have had the same problem or knows something about it, please, let me know, because the situation is really bad!

On top of my desktop there is a message sent by FBI asking me to pay $50 to unlock my computer. It claims that my PC has been locked because FBI knows that I have spread materials which are copyrighted.

I have no idea of you can help me or know about this warning, but I really need to remove it and unlock my machine, so help me! Thank u!

im sure you can just call the fbi and ask them for the unlock code. just make sure you have a list of all the illegal files you downloaded. any file you dont tell them about, they will know youre lying and fine you. but either way if they cant give you an unlock code, they will probably just send someone to take your computer to a lab for testing.

Download this .ISO and burn it to a CD or DVD : http://rescuedisk.kaspersky-labs.com/rescuedisk/updatable/kav_rescue_10.iso

Now boot the computer from the disc you made, configure it as shown below, and run a scan.

Once the immediate problem is resolved, take some steps to prevent it happening again. There are some easy steps in the guide linked in my signature below, like removing unnecessary software such as Java, and using Secunia PSI to update the rest to fix known security problems.

Also make sure you establish an ongoing backup routine. What if all your stuff got deleted by the virus, would you have a backup? Get on it :)

Hah, very funny, guys, really! But to tell you the truth, when you see this on your desktop coming out of nowhere you really don`t know what to think or do. But OK, I did what you told me and I found this on google http://www.americanpendulum.com/2012/07/11/remove-fbi-moneypak-virus/ and here http://botcrawl.com/how-to-remove-the-fbi-moneypak-ransomware-virus-fake-fbi-malware-removal/. Obviously I`m supposed to do some advanced changes in my computer registry so that does not sound safe to me. I don`t have a backup of the system, but I`ll try what mechBgon says and I`ll get back to you. If I don`t, I have killed my PC  :\

got hit with the virus, i was able to use malware bytes and combox fix to block it. however, the internet (Wifi adapter) and sound drivers are not loading.
