He talked about trying to kill antifa and blow up news networks. He also suggested that Beto O'Rourke deserved to be killed.

Gee, that rhetoric sounds familiar. Exaggerating the threat of antifa? Believing the press is the enemy of the people? Beto is evil incarnate? He was basically taking a Trump drone's ideology to its logical extreme.

This is also a not-so-friendly reminder that right-wing domestic terrorism is the main threat on US soil, and that Trump is winding up a host of ticking time bombs. The scary thing is that there's a real chance one of those will go off in a horrific way.

Trump clearly needs some peace prizes.

And of course this is all the fault of the liberal socialist commies, Hillary and Obama for antagonizing this poor patriotic soldier's tortured soul. Trump was merely pointing that out to him and his other supporters. /s

Take care not to call out the deplorables, for they might take offense and go do something deplorable out of spite!

What's more worrying is they are doing this when they have a President sympathetic to their views, imagine how angry and unhinged they will be when the liberals "steal" the presidency from them.

That is a concern, although sadly you could see that coming. I'm still half-convinced that the American right interpreted 9/11 as a mandate for Republicans to rule forever (since only they could supposedly fight terrorism), and they lost their minds when Bush Jr. was not only voted out in 2008, but lost to a dark-skinned man with an Arab-sounding name. In that sense, Trump just took that existing panic and 'legitimized' it.

The irony is that Trump's presidency is warming me to the expansionist view of the 2A...

I'm glad they got the bad guy and he is in trouble now. It seems like system is working. Hopefully we can get even more of the bad guys :wineglass:

i think the 2a is all about if you feel oppressed you can kill people.

Kind of. If you are being oppressed you are legally and morally allowed to fight back enough to stop being oppressed. Who in the world would say "no fucking way you just have to sit there and take oppression"? Not me. Hopefully not you.

I think the biggest issue is probably not trusting in the average person's intellectual ability to correctly determine if they are being oppressed and their ability to determine the proper force to halt said oppression. That is actually a really interesting discussion. Given than 10's of millions of people own guns and haven't shot "oppressors", I'm kind of wondering if people might actually be pretty good at making the distinction.

Define oppression.

I think you or I are smart enough to know when we are being oppressed without Pipeline1010 giving an internet definition. Is oppression OK or is it not? Is it OK to defend yourself from it or not? I'm kind of confused why you are asking this? I can help you if you need it but I trust you and assume that you will be able to know when someone or some group is doing bad things to you. Have I made a mistake in my assumption?

The reason he asks is because all these RW idiots going on shooting sprees have concluded that their "Oppression" meets the criteria to begin shooting.

So, which direction are they being led? It's certainly not in the direction of respect for our fellow Americans & our democratic institutions. Quite the contrary.

can "the government is oppressing me" be used as a defense?
